World No Tobacco Day:LUCKNOW METRO TALKS ABOUT THE INCREASING RATE OF TOBACCO CONSUMPTION IN YOUTH

Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation has commemorated “World No Tobacco Day” today at its Hazratganj Metro Station. This occasion was enlightened with the presence of Professor and Chief Proctor of the Respiratory Department, King George Medical University, Prof. R.A.S. Kushwaha, and Prof. Satish Kumar as chief guests. They shared their words and harrowing experiences which they have throughout their carrier with the audience. They said that the consumption of tobacco is very harmful to us.

In addition to it, they said that in the initial phase of consumption of tobacco and its by-products feels good but after some time you get addicted to it and also the adverse effects can be seen in the long run.

During the session, the audience appreciated Lucknow Metro’s initiative against tobacco. Attempts to spread awareness against tobacco were further strengthened when people present there told stories about the dangerous effects of tobacco smoking and of the families struggling with it. Tobacco has taken in many forms like Beedi, Cigarette, Pan Masala, Gutkha also harms the health of your friends and family as well as you.

While pledging to quit smoking on this occasion, the participants gave a message of ‘life’ instead of ‘intoxicants’ and said that we can save ourselves and our loved ones from huge crises of the future by improving our habits.

Lucknow Metro has restricted carrying of any kind of tobacco-related items from the first day of its commercial operation.
