Maharashtra CM Uddhav thackey, Gulam Nabi Azad and Sharad Pawar praised anjuman Islam contribution in education

Mumbai : Hon’ble CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, MP Rajya Sabha Sharad Pawar, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Nargis Antulay along with Dr. Zahir I. Kazi, President, Anjuman-I-Islam attend the naming ceremony of Barrister A.R. Antulay college of Law

The evening started with Dr. Zahir I. Kazi, President and the management of Anjuman-I-Islam addressing the attendees and dignitaries at the event held at the Anjuman-I-Islam campus in Mumbai on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020.

Talking about Honourable CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, he said, “ It’s an absolute privilege and honour for all of us to have him this evening. It is an auspicious occasion of Founders Day of Anjuman-I-Islam, where it was founded 147 years ago. It has been a part of the freedom of struggle of India. Back then, Britishers wanted education system in place and it played a major role. On behalf of 1.10 lakhs people of Anjuman-I-Islam, I welcome our beloved CM Uddhav Thackarey.”

“This is probably the first gathering of any muslim institute Uddhav Thackey is addressing after he was termed as CM of Maharashtra state. He has inherited the qualities from his father Bala Saheb Thackeray. In a way, he is our neighbour as his college is next door and by coming here today, he showed his loyalty as a good neighbour. He is the most humble person I have come across, he truly deserves to be the CM of Maharashtra state. He is not only a creative person but also a young CM, who cares for everyone,”he adds.

“He is possibly the tallest politicians and there is no match of his contribution. He has been conferred with the second big honour in the country, Padma Vibushan and his presence today at the event is surreal,” Dr. Kazi shares.

Dr zahir Qazi said anjuman Islam is an institution which contributed in freedom struggle and rejected the Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s two nation theory. It is the Muslim institution where about fifty percent students are non Muslim

CM Uddhav Thackeray shares, “Everyone must be wondering that what Shiv Sena leader is doing in Anjuman-I-Islam? There are two major reasons for my presence here, one being is Antulay Saheb. He must be proud today that Bala Saheb Thackeray’s son has become the state CM. My father has been friends with A.R.Antulay and Sharad Pawar since 1960. Mann Ki Baat and Dil Ki Baat are two different things. Antulay Saheb was one of the handsomest CM of the state at once upon a time. I am very thankful to this university who has been doing a great work in the area of education since years.”

While praising the book Banaam Nargis Baqalam, Honourable MP Rajya Sabha Sharad Pawar says, “I am still trying to read the book Banaam Nargis and I am surprised to see this side of Barrister A.R. Antulay.”

While addressing the dignitaries on stage, Shri Ghulam Nabi Azad, MP Lok Sabha says, “I would like to congratulate Aslam-I-Islam on it’s Founders Day. It is even older than Aligarh Muslim University and Indian National Congress. It is responsible to provide education to Muslims and also to non-muslims too. Anjuman-i-islam has provided education to more than 50% of Hindus and also have specific schools for women. It is also a secular institutions

Followed by the naming ceremony, Honourable CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, MP Rajya Sabha Sharad Pawar, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Nargis Antulay, Dr. Zahir I. Kazi, President, Anjuman-I-Islam, Javed Akhtar, Sanjay Raut along with other dignitaries launch the book named Banaam Nargis Baqalam by A.R.Antulay.
