Yogi government all set up for its second groundbreaking ceremony here on Sunday

 

 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest with a number of top industrialists present

Lucknow, The Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up for its second groundbreaking ceremony here on Sunday where Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest, while a number of top industrialists will be attending the event. Foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 65,000 crore for 292 projects which will generate 2.5 lakh jobs will be laid, at the event, official said. The Torrent Gas Private Limited will be the second biggest investor in the state with Rs 2751 crore investment followed by South Korean company Samsung, which has pledged to invest Rs 2000 crore.

The Uttar Pradesh government will host its second groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Minister Satish Mahana and Chief Secretary Anup Chandra Pandey are personally monitoring the arrangements at the venue.  Minister for Industrial Development, Satish Mahana, foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 60,000 crore will be laid at the event.

The projects were announced during the first investors’ summit held last year, during the first groundbreaking ceremony, foundation stones for 158 projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore were laid in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Total nine departments of the state government have been given the responsibility of taking care of the guests who will arrive on Sunday morning and leave the same evening. All the guests have been accorded the status of state guests. in this regard District Magistrate Lucknow, Kaushal Raj has issued strict warnings against errant officials.

A total of 200 VIPs are expected to turn up for the event along with 11 VVIPs. Among the industrialists who will be coming for the event are Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd Chairman Anand C Mahindra, ITC CEO Sanjeev Puri, Medanta Group Chairman Naresh Trehan, HCL Group founder-Chairman Shiv Nadar, PepsiCo India President and CEO Ahmed ElSheikh, Tata Sons Chairman Chandrashekharan, Samsung India President and CEO HC Hong, Adani Group Chairman and Managing Director Gautam and Torrent Group Chairman Sudhir Mehta.

The biggest investment will be in the electronics manufacturing sector, where 33 companies will invest Rs 19951 crore. Second biggest investment will be in the renewable energy sector in which 32 companies will invest Rs 10,630 crore. The third biggest investment of Rs 7747 crore will be in the infrastructure sector. Apart from these, Adani Transmission will invest Rs 871 crore, ITC Rs 800 crore and Tata Power Renew Rs 500 crore.
